EnergyAudits.com provides a service whereby auditors and raters provide certain information for public viewing on our website, including company and contact names and phone numbers. To explain how the rest of your information is protected, collected or used, we have developed the following privacy policy.

Protecting your privacy

  • We do not employ tracking devices for marketing purposes (cookies)
  • We do not run any type of pop-up, or other commercial ad
  • We do provide links to third party websites, which may have different privacy practices. We are not responsible for, nor do we have any control over, the privacy policies of those third party websites. We encourage all users to read the privacy policy of each and every website visited.
  • We do not store any payment/credit card information. Credit card transactions are transmitted to a financial gateway and never viewed by EnergyAudits.com.

Data we collect

  • If you register as an auditor or rater on our site, we collect the information under either the BASIC or PROFESSIONAL levels, and store it in our database. Although we make good faith efforts to store the information in a secure operating environment that is not available to the public, we cannot guarantee complete security.
  • If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will collect and store your email address, but will not share your information with any third party.
  • If you request an audit or additional information, your request, along with your email address, will be forwarded to 1-3 certified auditors near you. We have verified that these individuals are certified by either the Building Performance Institute (BPI) or Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET). However, as stated above, we are not responsible for, nor do we have any control over, the privacy policies of those third parties.

Circumstances in which we may release information

  • EnergyAudits.com may disclose information about its users if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process.
  • In addition, we may disclose information about our users to law enforcement officers or others, in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to: enforce our Terms of Use, respond to claims that a posting or other content violates the rights of third parties, or protect the rights, property or personal safety of energyaudits, its users or the general public.
